Robert Ross

"I am drawn to ordinary places and objects and how the spaces between them suggest narratives of relationship, yearning or becoming. My paintings convey a quiet stillness and an intimacy that arises from intense and long looking. There is a sense that something has just happened or is about to happen, the hint of an unseen presence. Good composition in a painting is important to me, but so is the pleasure of light and color."
