Background Information

Hiu Lai Chong finds her painting inspiration at local marinas and shorelines along the beautiful Chesapeake Bay. She received her early art training in Hong Kong, and further her education in The School of the Art Institute of Chicago with Bachelor of Fine Arts degree.

Her paintings have won numerous awards and have been shown in museums across the country. In 2011, Fine Art Connoisseur magazine named Hiu Lai as one of "Three Artists to Watch". In 2012 She was featured in the November issue of Plein Air Magazine.

She is a member of the Oil Painters of America, Portrait Society of America, American Society of Marine Artists, the Washington Society of Landscape Painters, and the Mid-Atlantic Plein Air Painters' Association. She also belongs to South Street Art Gallery's guild of professional artists in Easton, Maryland.
